These rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members and their guests. They have been established to ensure the safe and sanitary operation of the club facilities. Parents are urged to read these rules to their children and to caution them to observe the rules and obey the instructions of the pool employees. Failure to comply with these rules will be considered sufficient cause for immediate suspension of pool privileges for the offending member for a period of one to seven days and could also be considered sufficient cause for cancellation of membership as set aside by the bylaws.
I. SIGNING IN
MEMBERS
1. All members must sign the register at the desk before entering. Each member of the family
entering the facility must have their name printed on the register before entering. Please do not
enter until all members of your group have been properly signed in and accounted for by a pool
employee. A pool employee will be at the desk to maintain the register and be of assistance.
2. Children under the age of nine (9) must be accompanied by an adult or approved babysitter.
3. Members must be present to sign in their non-member guests and must be present as long as
their non-member guests are on the premises.
4. Each family member is allowed only one local, nonmember guest per day.
NOTE: The following days are “MEMBERS ONLY” days: All Sundays; Memorial Day; July 4th; Labor Day
NON-MEMBERS (Guest fees are non-refundable.) (Fees apply to all ages.)
1. Non-members are allowed on the premises only when accompanied by their sponsoring
member and only after completely filling out the guest register and paying the guest fee.
2. Non-members must follow all of the facility rules.
Local Guests (those who live within a 25-mile air radius of the pool-this includes all of
Jefferson and Shelby counties):
1. $5.00 per day for the first five (5) visits and $15.00 per day for visits after the 5th visit.
2. Local guests are not allowed on “Members Only” days. (See above.)
3. Each local guest must have a different sponsoring member who signs them in and remains
with them while they are on the premises.
Out-of-Town Houseguests (those with permanent residence outside the 25-mile radius and who
are houseguests of the sponsoring member)
1. $5.00 per person per week.
2. At least one member of the sponsoring family must be present at the facility with the non-
member, out-of-town guests.
Permanent, local babysitters of members may qualify for the weekly houseguest rate. Prior approval from the Board of Directors is required. See the manager for details.
*Members who violate the guest policies by inviting a nonmember onto the premises without properly signing them in and/or without paying the fee and/or by providing false information will be suspended from the facility for not less than three days and risk losing their membership. Nonmembers who violate the policies will not be allowed back into the facility.
II. GENERAL RULES
1. All members and guests shall use the pool facilities at their own risk. The Corporation is not
responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
2. No unauthorized person is allowed on the pool premises when the pool is not in operation.
3. Children under the age of nine (9) must be accompanied by an adult or approved babysitter.
4. Only authorized personnel are allowed behind the desk.
5. All users of the pool facilities must conduct themselves in a courteous manner. No loud music,
abusive or profane language or breach of peace will be tolerated. Pool members are encouraged to
report any violation of this rule to an employee.
6. Members will be held responsible for the actions of their guests. Guests are required to follow all
rules and regulations.
7. Vandalism and unlawful acts are subject to prosecution. Parents will be held responsible for their
children's actions.
8. The pool manager is the only person authorized to give instructions to pool employees.
Suggestions for improving the grounds or operation of the facility are welcome and should be
made in writing to the pool manager or any pool board member.
9. Pets are not allowed on the premises.
10. No glass containers of any kind are allowed on the premises.
11. No alcoholic beverages may be brought on the premises. Intoxicated persons will be denied access
or asked to leave.
12. Smoking is not allowed on the premises.
13. Chewing gum and chewing tobacco are not allowed on the premises.
14. A schedule of pool hours will be posted at the pool.
15. During Swim/Dive Team practice and competition, certain areas of the pool will be temporarily
closed to recreational swimming/diving. A practice and meet schedule will be posted at the pool.
III. POOL RULES
1. No unauthorized person is allowed in the pool enclosure unless a lifeguard is on duty.
2. The pool employees are in full charge of the facility and have the authority to enforce all rules and
take whatever action they deem necessary to maintain order and ensure the safety of all patrons.
3. Pool users must wear proper swim attire. Swim diapers are required for non-potty trained children.
4. No street shoes inside the pool enclosure.
5. All users of the pools must conduct themselves in a courteous manner that ensures the safety of
all patrons. No dunking is allowed. No boisterous/rough playing in the pools or on the premises.
6. No running anywhere on the premises.
7. No diving into the small pool or into the shallow areas of the large pool.
8. A shower may be required before entering the pools.
9. Persons with skin diseases, open lesions, colds, inflamed eyes, any communicable disease, nasal or
ear discharges are prohibited from entering the pools.
10. Spitting, spouting of water and blowing of nose are prohibited in the pools.
11. The following items are not allowed in the pool and should be left at home: gum, hard toys, air
mattresses, inner tubes and/or any large flotation ring or device.
12. Kick boards and foam noodles are allowed as long as they are used properly.
13. Only soft balls or toys may be tossed in the pool and only when it does not interfere with or disturb
other patrons.
14. A child is allowed to wear a personal flotation device (including arm floats) when an adult
accompanies the child in the water and takes full responsibility for the child. No open-bottom
inflatable rings are allowed.
15. Use of the small pool:
a) Use of the small pool is limited to children under the age of seven (7).
b) Supervision of children in the small pool is the responsibility of the parent. Children are not
allowed in the small pool area unless accompanied by an adult who is present inside the
fenced-off area.
c) Swim diapers are required for non-potty trained children.
16. Use of the large pool by children:
a) Children under the age of seven (7) must be accompanied by an adult who is present inside the
large pool, fenced-off enclosure. This rule applies whether or not the child has passed the
basic swim test.
b) Children under the age of thirteen (13) are restricted to the shallow end of the pool until they
have passed the basic swim test. Exceptions are allowed only if a parent accompanies the child
in the water.
Basic Swim Test: These skills must be performed to the satisfaction of the lifeguard before a
child (under the age of 13) is allowed beyond the rope in the large pool. If a child fails to
perform either skill to the satisfaction of the lifeguard, the entire test must be retaken at another
time and successfully completed before the child may go beyond the rope in the shallow area.
a) Swim two widths of the pool in good form without struggling or stopping
and
b) Float and/or tread water for two minutes in deep water without struggling or stopping
17. All persons must stay clear of the lifeguard stations. Please do not socialize with the lifeguards
while they are on duty on the pool deck.
18. Food and drinks (except water), are prohibited within the fenced-off pool area.
19. All trash and litter must be placed in the proper containers. If it’s your mess, please clean it up.
20. As a safety measure and as a courtesy break to older swimmers, all children fourteen (14) years old
and under will leave the large pool for the last ten (10) minutes of each hour.
IV. DIVING RULES
1. Only one person is allowed on the diving stand at a time.
2. Hanging from and excessive bouncing on the boards are prohibited.
3. No diving or jumping to the sides of the diving boards.
4. The area in front of the board must be clear before diving or jumping.
5. No swimming in the diving area except at the discretion of the lifeguard.
6. The pool manager may prescribe rules for the use of the diving boards and diving area so as to
ensure the safety of all members.
7. Children who have not passed their swim test may request the use of the diving boards only during
courtesy break and only if a guard is available to accompany them to the well. A parent must also
accompany the child. Please do not assume that this special privilege is always available. Ask the
guard before going to the diving well. Depending on the circumstances, a guard may ask the child
to wait for another courtesy break to use the diving board.
V. GROUP SWIMS AND PARTIES
1. To avoid overcrowding and unsafe situations, group swims and parties must have prior approval
of the pool manager. The pool manager will assist with arrangements.
2. All guest regulations apply to all group swims and parties. Sign in and payment for nonmember
guests in your party must be made in advance. Refunds will be given for “no shows”.
3. Group swims and parties will only be scheduled for times when the pool is not heavily used. No
group swims or parties will be scheduled on “Members Only” days.
4. We cannot reserve tables and/or shade for your party. These are on a first come/first serve basis.
