Shades Cliff Pool was the brainchild of several community members who thought
this land would be perfect for a community pool. The facility was built during
the winter of 1963-1964 and first opened to its members in the summer of 1964.
The facility consists of a bathhouse with dressing rooms, an L-shaped pool with
a 25-meter competition area and diving well, and a small wading pool for the
younger members. Over the years, several deck expansions and an additional
family bathroom have added space and convenience for the members.
The membership is currently at its 400 family limit and there is a substantial waiting list to get in. For information about membership contact us at this address: scstlisa@charter.net or come by the pool during normal operating hours.
Since its inception, the pool has offered a competitive swim and dive team as well as swim lessons for its members. The staff consists of certified lifeguards and swim coaches as well as a certified lifeguard instructor. The management has 35 years of experience caring for and directing the use of the facility. Our mission is to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable facility for our members. We are always welcome to ideas concerning ways to improve the facility and the way it is operated.
